How to use iPhone 3.0 Internet Tethering feature

Posted on June 16, 2009

I just figured out how to get the Tethering thing working :)

For early 3.0 users, you will need to visit this site (make sure you open the link on your iphone with safari) if you want to use tethering via bluetooth you need to pair your iPhone with your Mac (I’m using a 20″ iMac) The rest of the process is very straight forward. See the screen captures below:

Switch on internet tethering

I switched off the Wifi to test it, the internet speed is actually faster than what I expected!
Now I’m so going to buy a 13″ MacBook Pro!!!

Why do they charge for internet tethering?? Isn’t that basically using your iPhone as a wireless receiver for your computer?

In Indonesia, i see the internet promo for iPhone, for every one month you get 1GB download and 1GB upload (total 2GB) and maybe it can be used for internet tethering. What internet promo for iPhone in Australia carrier?
